Public course week 2023 – that’s a wrap!
Autumn is Public Course season at the UIC in the UK, and is one of the only times we run two public courses simultaneously.
This year, we ran Universal Leadership Skills in Alsager and Improve Your Projects in Bristol.
Universal Leadership Skills
Bali, Josephine and Zoe were delighted to be joined by participants from Blackpool Transport, Caledonian Sleeper, Great Central Railway, MTR Elizabeth Line, Northern, Railway Benefit Fund and Southeastern Railway for Universal Leadership Skills.
(For some random reason, we had all transport people this time. This is not always the case and we usually get a good mix of industries and sectors on our public courses).
During the 3 days, participants were able to consider their existing leadership styles and practices and learn tried-and-tested models and skills for continuous improvement. Everyone enjoyed the combination of input on the ideas and philosophies underpinning leadership with practices and techniques that they could take away and immediately apply back in the workplace. Here’s what participants had to say about the course…
“Very inspirational – taken a lot from it like stuff I should be doing and aren’t and vice versa, plus I’m doing some stuff right”
“Gave me some thinking time”
“Got what I came for”
“Had some experience, but these tools are in context”
Get in touch to register your interest in our next Public Universal Leadership Skills course. Or, if you prefer, we can also run this course in-house for you – so drop us a line to find out more.
Improve Your Projects
Josie and Lucy had a great time delivering Improve Your Projects in Bristol to participants from Caledonian Sleeper, Northern Trains, Willmott Dixon and Propyard. We had a jam-packed 2 days thinking through the philosophy of improvement and learning a whole suite of tools for running better, more participative projects using UIMPROVE. And we did a lot of satisfying deep-dives into the manual!
Dates for next year’s public Improve Your Projects courses will be published soon. Get in touch if you would like to be kept updated.
